Thankyou Dinos

I only had the privilege to work with you for less than a couple of years in Milan, but this was more than enough to convince me that you were one of the most charismatic and inspirational educators with whom I had the pleasure to work. You arrived in Milan after an illness that meant you couldn't join us until well into the first term: I think must have been December already. Travel that day led to minor delays so you arrived in the school office very apologetic for being a few minutes later than scheduled.  For us, those few minutes were nothing after waiting 3 months for you to join us.  We were just happy you came.  And we still are. You relaunched our High School theatre programme in record time and went on to take a group to the Edinburgh festival with an unforgettable bilingual version of Romeo and Juliet.  Students often told me how you made learning a pleasure and incited their desire to know more and to try more for themselves.  You did it through action and drive as well as words - but sometimes also by inaction - your smile, your humility, your humanity, your genuine love and respect for people and the journeys they take through the times we spend together on Earth. Your own time was far too short.  It makes me scream with a sense of injustice. Why? But you leave far more than you can imagine.  The world is a better place and many of us are better people because of your time here.  Thankyou Dinos!
